Xander Hoiting

Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Xander, recently graduated in International Business from Hogeschool Utrecht. During my graduation internship at Royal BAM Group, within the Internal Audit department, I focused on making work processes more efficient and smarter, particularly through the responsible use of automation and AI.

By shadowing auditors during audits and project reviews, I gained insight into how document- and time-intensive audit preparation can be. This experience formed the foundation for developing AYA: AI Internal Auditor, an AI-powered tool that helps auditors analyze and structure large volumes of documentation without compromising quality or professional judgment. Both the product and my thesis were graded with an 8.5.

My professional interest lies at the intersection of business, technology, and process improvement. I get energy from translating complex tasks into scalable and thoughtful solutions, where efficiency goes hand in hand with reliability, control, and responsible use of technology. Automate where possible, human judgment where necessary.

Beyond my academic and internship experience, I develop applications and automations in my free time, with and without AI. Additionally, I've experienced entrepreneurship by building a YouTube channel that reached 19 million views and nearly 30,000 subscribers within a short time (years ago), which sparked my interest in building, testing, and entrepreneurship.

I speak fluent Dutch and English, have basic knowledge of German, and gained experience in an international and intercultural context during a 5-month exchange at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (Surabaya, Indonesia).
